If Terry Tate Worked in Advertising…
Posted October 30th, 2008 by AdministratorTerry Tate, the fictional lead character in Reebok’s 2003 Superbowl ad campaign had people buzzing the next day about the ferociousness yet hilarious nature in which he dealt with everyday office annoyances. In the ad slots, Tate (with the appropriate job title, Office Linebacker) was shown roaming around the office pulverizing unsuspecting employees with vicious tackles for transgressions like “forgetting to refill the coffee pot”. For some reason while reading the following faux product advertising pages, I thought of Terry Tate and his intensity. If he worked in advertising, the following would pretty much be his creative output. [warning for extremely crude language].
I’m not quite sure of the origins of these images. More than likely they’re the brainchild of some individuals over at 4chan.org with a little too much time on their hands. After a few iterations from the original we have the end result here, extreme advertising pages!
First up is a spoof of the crazy absorbent shamois cloth of late night infomercial fame, the Shamwow. Only the best of the best is good enough for Terry Tate.
Next we have the current front runner of this year’s presidential election, Barrack Obama. If this ad ever made it to the main stream, he would no doubt have 101% of the votes.
Got a funny feeling this picture of what appears to be a missing dog poster but is anything but started this extreme advertising business.
Pretty much self explanatory. Who doesn’t like big cookies?!
